We celebrated Easter this year by ourselves – and it was wonderful. The girls were as excited as we could hope for, following the clues from the Easter Bunny to find their baskets, squealing and jumping up and down over the treasures they found waiting. Our predicted constant rain took pity on us and didn’t start until after dinner, leaving us with plenty of time for pictures in Easter dresses (made by Momma), a walk, and chasing bubbles. Tom and I made our very first ham (from our local pig), using a peach glaze – it turned out delicious, and we both had eyes-closed happy moments over the melt-in-your-mouth candied bits.
I’m beginning to wonder why we don’t spend every Sunday like this – I guess the rare occasion is what makes it so special. I hope everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their holiday – more pictures to come after I recover from my ham/candy/coffee cake coma.
