This whole “having a baby” thing has really killed my sewing time. I think she’s just cute enough to make me okay with that – but it would be nice if I could get her to nap when Ella does, so I’d have some guaranteed free-time. Because of all the baby-holding-and-loving-and-kissing, it took me a lot longer than I had hoped to get enough skirts done that I felt comfortable posting them on my Etsy shop. But I did finally get there and they are now up, and ready – and I’m very happy with them. I think the idea is cute, but hopefully not sickingly so – and most of the fabric came from my favorite Amish quilting shop – a place where I could easily spend hundreds of dollars (but I didn’t – don’t worry, babe).
Ella agreed to be my model and did very well, as long as I let her be silly most of the time. As a result, I have a whole slew of shots that look like this:
But we also got some that look like this:
I’m hoping to get at least two more done this weekend, and then I’d like to spend some time on a different style, and maybe some blankets as well. I think the hardest part about selling something on Etsy is getting the word out – so if you like what you see, feel free to pass on the link (http://birdeeandme.etsy.com).
