I am officially declaring Ella’s room done…for now. I have a few other projects in mind, for the walls, but they’ll have to wait until after Thing Two has arrived and life has settled down. Plus, she’ll be getting a twin-sized quilt at some point from Nonna (my mom), but for now we’re having her use the same blankets and pillows she had in her crib, for familiarity.
This room was relatively easy. I say “relatively” because it still had wallpaper, and despite the fact that most of it came off quickly, there were several areas that just wouldn’t budge. Tom and his dad actually finished the painting back in December, but then we had to pick out shades, and I wanted to get it at least somewhat decorated. I’m really happy with the way it turned out, and Ella is spending more and more of her day there, especially as new things have been added. I centered all the art around different animals, and she loves pointing them out and what they are doing – especially the birdie playing the drums (thanks Aunt Mimi). And as I was in the process of hanging everything, she kept up with a steady stream of encouraging words: “I LIKE that! Good job, Mom.” I believe it was a success.
