I got a few pictures sent to me by our Realtor, that he took on our closing day. They’re all just shots in front of the house, so you’ll have to wait till we move in for a more detailed view. And yes, I will be taking “before” shots of everything, and posting our progress as we settle in and redecorate.
Now, before I let you see it, I need to remind you that this is not the house either Tom or I thought we were going to buy. I was dead-set against living in a ranch. When Tom would show me one for sale, I would make a very smart-ass comment about having the ability to walk up stairs. I just wanted my two-story traditional, didn’t he understand? This house was the very first home we looked at once I decided I was living with a pipe dream of finding my ideal home in the second-time-homebuyer’s price range. But, as I’ve mentioned before, it ended up being the right house.
The funny thing is, when I was talking to the previous homeowner, she told me the story about when they moved in to the house, almost 30 years ago. It was practically identical to ours. She had a 1 yr old boy, was pregnant with their second, and she wanted her dream home: a two-story traditional. And they almost backed out of the showing for the ranch. But in the end, she said that it was the place that felt like home.
Serendipitous, you might say.
