I have no idea where all this stubbornness is coming from (it’s got to be Tom, right?). Ella refuses to listen to me. She would rather go to bed hungry, than take ONE SINGLE BITE of yummy potato soup. Even if after she takes that bite, she will then be able to indulge in a mini KitKat bar. The chocolate will make her think about it, but she’ll realize she would have to GIVE IN, and that, apparently, is not an option. I may have been stubborn about food when I was a kid, but I was required to eat THREE bites of that yucky fish, and I DID IT! I may have cried about it, but that’s beside the point – eventually, it got choked down, along with my pride.
We had our 20 week ultrasound today. The one where you are supposed to be able to see the sex of the baby, if you so desire. We found out two things in that ultrasound. I’m only 19 weeks along (it changes every time I go) and that moves my possible due date to the 16th of March. Also, I have a very stubborn baby currently residing in my womb. There was no way, no how, that little one was going to let some technician violate his/her space and take pictures of vital organs! If the ultrasound wand was a paparazzi camera, Thing Two would have ripped it out of the photographer’s hands and smashed it to pieces with his/her foot. And on the subject of uncrossing those legs and sticking that bum out, for a clear view of girl/boy parts? NOT HAPPENING!
So while I have clear pictures of most everything, I’m missing the one that will allow me to finally start buying all those baby clothes I’ve been cooing over (just kidding Tom…sort of). The only good thing about The Wiggly One, is that since the tech wasn’t able to get clear views of some of the things they need for health reasons, I get to come back and have one more try at getting the money shot. I honestly didn’t consider what would happen if we don’t get that shot – I know it wouldn’t be the end of the world to wait, but damnit, I don’t want to!
