Ella and I have been listening to a cd that Maiken got us a lot, lately. It’s full of alternative bands singing children’s songs. Some of them are originals, and some are traditional. Ella’s current favorite is Kyle Andrews’ version of “The Wheels on the Bus.” However, I take issue with the lyrics he’s chosen:
The Babies on the bus say “waa, waa, waa” (not that line…wait for it)
The Mommas on the bus say “shh, shh, shh” (almost there…)
The Daddies on the bus say “I love you, I love you, I love you”
What?! Why does Daddy always get to be the nice/fun parent? I can be fun…I swear…it just helps if that fun doesn’t involve screaming or making a mess.
My mid-year resolution (who says they have to be made in January?) is to continue loosening my death grip on crazy-anal-retentive behaviors that prevent me from having a good time with my baby girl. Tom – you are officially on “shh, shh, shh” duty.
