I figured I should spend a little time, now that Tom is on a trip and I have the computer to myself, getting some pictures edited and updated. I should be current by the end of this week so feel free to stop by flickr to check them out. I just barely uploaded the very few that I had from my first visit with the lovely Hannah Bo-Bannah (as I have dubbed her). Seeing those two pictures of a little face that so perfectly reflects her parents made me a little weepy.
Lori and I met a long time ago when she was rooming with my sister, Maiken. I honestly don’t even know how long ago it was. Probably about 10 years, but she was an instant friend and it feels like I’ve known her forever. Even though we are now both married, with our own separate lives, and we really hardly ever see each other – I still consider her my closest friend. Besides, she knows all my dirt so I can’t let her too far out of my sight.
When I found out Lori was pregnant I was so thrilled, but then sad. I had always assumed our kids would be Best Friends Forever instantly. Now that we are moving away, they won’t grow up together. It might seem like a silly thing to be upset about, but I tend to get upset about silly things.
I got to meet the charming princess when I attended her blessing at Jon and Lori’s church. She was everything I knew she would be. Petite, calm, beautiful and alert – just like Lori. Plus she has her daddy’s red hair – simply fabulous. I instantly noticed that she and Ella were dressed almost identically: cream dress and pink shoes. Of course! BFF’s just have to match at important events!
I know that Lori and I will keep in touch, so hopefully Hannah will someday be able to teach Ella all about Jem (she’s truly outrageous!). And then Ella can teach Hannah how to shake her booty to Justin Timberlake.
(You can see Hannah’s adorableness here.)
